Brief: Harrington’s Tap House

Harrington’s Tap House is a heritage-rich, family-owned pub in Flagstaff that proudly bucks modern trends—no TVs, no gimmicks—just great beer, great conversation, and a sense of true community. The owners approached us to create a branding system that honored their legacy and reflected the kind of place Harrington’s has always been: warm, unpretentious, and built for genuine connection.

Objective:

Develop a timeless visual identity that captures the soul of the tap house and appeals to both long-time locals and curious newcomers. The brand needed to feel rooted and authentic, something that would age well and become part of the fabric of the community.

Role:

As the brand strategist, we were responsible for creating a full brand package including primary and secondary logo marks, icon variations, print collateral, and signage. The project called for attention to detail, sensitivity to history, and a clear understanding of the tap house’s values.

Solution:

We designed a rugged-yet-refined brand identity system that blends vintage pub aesthetics with subtle contemporary polish. Deliverables included:

  • A versatile logo suite with type-forward and emblem options

  • Custom-printed coasters, stickers and other signage for new location in Flagstaff, Arizona.

  • Clean, functional parking and wayfinding signage designed to blend into the environment without losing visibility

Each element was intentionally designed to support Harrington’s no-fuss atmosphere—inviting, not flashy. The visual tone was nostalgic but never kitsch, echoing the slow pace and good company that define the space.

Outcome:

The new branding elevated the tap house’s presence without compromising its charm. Regulars felt right at home, while newcomers were drawn in by the welcoming feel of the signage and print pieces. The coasters and stickers even became popular souvenirs—organic marketing in action.

Summary:

Harrington’s Tap House now has a cohesive visual identity that reflects its soul: heritage-rich, people-first, and proudly unplugged. Through thoughtful design and deep collaboration, we helped preserve the character of a beloved local business while giving it tools to keep growing—one beer and conversation at a time.
